The New York shows open September 10. Before the schedule swallows everyone whole, here are five names, some showing this season and some just outside it, that have our attention.

1. VERDAVAINNE. Sculptural, metallic, and not afraid of a grand gesture. A strapless silver column cinched with a single cobalt bow is the kind of look that stops a room. With a runway moment landing just before the NYFW rush, VERDAVAINNE is making a case for drama done with restraint.

2. KZ_K Studio. Made in New York, conceptual to the core. The studio's "Trans Habits" work, drape and glove jackets read across generations, treats a garment as an idea about how bodies and clothes wear each other over time. One of the quieter experiments on our radar, and one of the more interesting.

3. Art Hearts Fashion. Not a single designer but a platform, which is exactly why it matters. Art Hearts built its runway around merit and access, giving emerging and international designers a real NYFW stage. If you want to see who's next, it's one of the best rooms to watch.

4. Evan Hirsch x ShopGoodwill.com. Upcycling done well enough for the official CFDA calendar. Hirsch turns secondhand into something people actually want, which is the strongest argument in the room that sustainability and desire aren't opposites.

5. Modest Now x Muslimi. Modest fashion is one of the fastest-growing and least-covered corners of the industry, and this NYFW runway puts it where it belongs, on the schedule rather than the sidelines. Exactly the kind of story we started FVM to tell.
